Historical Information

The theatres in the Broadway area of New York City are world famous and draw tourists in year-round. Souvenir programs are sold at the show and are often larger and contain many more photographs of the production than the programs that are handed out to the audience as they enter the theatre.

This collection contains theatre programs from Broadway productions between the years of 1942 and 1997. The programs include descriptions of the production, along with information on the performers, directors, choreographers and producers who made it happen. The performers' list includes such names as Lucille Ball, Jackie Gleason, Ethel Merman, Audrey Hepburn, Mickey Rooney and others who left their mark on Broadway's stage.
